A yet-to-be identified helicopter has reportedly crashed into the Lagos lagoon minutes ago.
Sources around Oworonshoki said the crash occurred behind the police station in the area.
It was learnt that the helicopter made a loud noise before nose-diving into the lagoon at the Third Mainland Bridge.
At the time of this report, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have begun rescue operations at the scene.
Spokesman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Yakubu Dati, who confirmed the report, declined to give details of the incident.
According to him, “it is true, but we are still trying to piece information together.”
He confirmed that rescue agencies were at the scene of the incident.
