The Senate on Thursday said it has received a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari, asking the legislature to confirm the appointment of Justice Ejembi Eko and Justice Amina Augie as Supreme Court justices.
The letter, dated 19th July 2016 was read to members of the Senate by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during the plenary.
The letter read, “In accordance with Section 231, Subsection 1 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I have the pleasure to forward for your confirmation the nomination of Hon. Justice Ejembi Eko, JCA, Benue, North Central, and Hon. Justice Amina A. Augie, JCA, Kebbi, North-West, as Supreme Court justices.
“Please accept, Mr. President of the Senate and distinguished senators, the assurances of my esteemed consideration.”
