A younger brother to the Deputy Governor of Edo state has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The younger brother, identified as Frederick Shaibu, was kidnapped as he went to drop his children in their school near Benin City, the capital of the state.
The kidnap took place on Monday, according to a family source. He was kidnapped in the Aruogba area, Irhiri about 7 am as he went to drop off his children at the school, according to the source. The gunmen left the children behind as they took the man away.
Nigeria is currently witnessing a rising wave of insecurity, including kidnapping fo ransom, murder, and other violent crimes.
