Nigerian music maestro, David Adeleke, aka ‘Davido,’ has announced the donation of N250m to orphanages in the country.
Davido said on Saturday that the amount came from the N100m challenge which he threw to his friends and admirers that has brought N201m.
According to the announcement on his Instagram page, Davido said he added N50m to the amount he realized from this friends and fans.
The journey to this began on Wednesday when he asked his friends to donate N1m each in support of his forthcoming birthday.
He received cash donations in excess of N53m within one hour of making the request on his Instagram page.
According to him, he has set up a five-man committee to superintend the distribution of the funds.
