A member of the House of Representatives representing Sumaila/Takai federal constituency of Kano state, Garba Durbunde, was on Wednesday kidnapped by gunmen.
Multiple sources reported that the lawmaker was abducted along Kaduna-Jere road on Tuesday while on his way from the federal capital territory to Kano.
Durbunde, who is an ally of former Kano governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, served as the commissioner for rural development in the immediate past administration in Kano state.
