There are frantic fireworks going on in the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, the National leader of the party and leading contender for the presidency, has just held an emergency meeting with the party’s governors.
The Monday meeting came shortly after Prof Yemi Osinbaji, the Vice President, formally declared for the presidency. His declaration followed a meeting he held on Sunday with APC’s governors at which he officially informed them of his intentions.
Osinbajo told the governors that he had already informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his plan to run for the post.
Tinubu’s meeting with the governors was scheduled to hold at 10 am at the Kebbi house on Plot 70, Kur Mohammed Way, Off Ahmadu Bello Way, Central Business District, Abuja.
That involved a change in the venue, as it was moved from Lagos House Abuja to Kebbi house.
The fight for the presidency pits Tinubu, a two-term former governor of Lagos State, against Osinbajo, who served as a Commissioner under him.
