A member of the Kano State House of Assembly representing Gaya Constituency on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Danladi Isa Kademi, has been murdered.
Danladi was killed on Friday evening by unknown gunmen at a relaxation spot located at the Hotoro area of Kano city.
According to an eyewitness, the former Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen in the state was killed at about 6.30 pm by the men, who stormed the place on a motorcycle.
Confirming the incident, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Idris blamed the late lawmaker for making himself vulnerable to his assailants, saying police authorities had warned lawmakers and other high-profile personalities to abstain from visiting relaxation joints, as such areas are prone to attacks.
