Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in extra time as La Roja defeated Argentina 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, capturing the nation’s second World Cup title.
Spain controlled much of the match with disciplined defending and composed possession, limiting Lionel Messi and Argentina to few clear-cut opportunities. Their dominance was rewarded in extra time when Torres found the breakthrough, sending Spain to glory on football’s biggest stage.
Argentina’s task became even more difficult after being reduced to 10 men, allowing Spain to maintain control and eventually deliver the winning moment.
With the victory, Spain adds a second World Cup crown to the title it won in 2010, while completing an impressive tournament run with a composed and commanding performance in the final.
